BA Nightlife and Lifestyle

BA Nightlife: So... we thought that New York was the "city that never sleeps" ... WRONG!! NY nightlife is nothing compared to BA. A typical weekend night begins at 10 pm or later for dinner. Things happen from then until after 2 am, which we are still not sure what it is. Then AFTER 2 am is when everyone arrives to the bars/clubs. This is for real. For example, we left at 2 am to leave for the bars and the cabbie said we were early... d'oh! He explained that the original social routine used to be pretty normal... clubs closed at 2 am. However, public transportation stopped running between 2 am and 6 am. To solve this problem bars/clubs decided to stay open late. There are "after party" places that stay open until 12 noon the next day.

Our attempt at this was pretty hilarious. Friday night ... we go to a club called Mandarin. We arrived a little after 2 am... walked up to the entrance and to our surprise it was City Nights in BA. Seriously everyone was under 18! LOL! We sucked it up and went in and had one drink. Then we tried another place called Sugar... it was an expat place and it was alright... we should've brought oxygen tanks with us because we could not breathe with all the cigarette smoke! Bleh!

Saturday night was successful! We went to Club Araoz. It was MUCH better because everyone was over 21 years old. However, all they mostly played was house music... BUT they did play a good amount of reggaeton! The entertainment from the people there was endless... they don't know how to dance and everyone looks and dresses the same. For the chicas... it was long wavy hair, with skinny jeans and boots. For the chicos... long hair/mullets with faux headbands. See the example below...

Santi... do you want us to get you a headband for your long locks???

We left the club at 5 am and that was STILL early!! People were still coming in! HAHA!
